About us

David Durward – after retirement from the airline industry, and having lived eight years in a small Swiss wine village, I decided to pursue my passion for wine and enrolled in a diploma course at the Ecole de Vin, part of the Engineering and Agricultural school at Changins in the canton of Vaud.  The Ecole du Vin is one of the top schools of Europe and it offers diplomas in wine tasting, wine commerce and wine sommelier.  It has taken one year and almost 400 hours of class time, not to mention tasting more than 1000 wines - whew!

This web site is the result of my experiences while learning about wine, from terroir to plant to bottle.  It includes “discoveries” of wines and wine-makers that have a passion for good wine, good food, and the endless journey to find opportunities to bring them into harmony.

Lynne Durward – with twenty years plus on the quest to find good food and match it with good wine in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, it is time to share.  This web site gives me the opportunity to showcase some of the best places Switzerland has to offer.  It is a daunting task, because there are so many!
